Approach in darts - is a series of three consecutive dart throws by one player before the turn shifts to the next player. This means that the player has three attempts to hit the target and score as many points as possible in one approach.

🎯 Bettings on darts:

  • Handicap of Approaches by 180 Points:
This counts the number of approaches where the player reached 180 points.

  • Total Approaches for 180 Points:
This counts the total number of approaches where the player reached 180 points (over/under).

  • Total Approaches for 180 "Player":
This counts the number of approaches where a specific player reached 180 points.

  • Handicap by Set:
Typically, the game is divided into sets, and the winner must win from 3 to 5 "legs" in each set, depending on the tournament. To win a match, you usually need to win 3 sets.

📝 Rules of the game in darts:

The most popular game in darts today is "301/501".

  • At the beginning of the game, each player already has 301 or 501 points.

  • The goal is to deduct these points by hitting sectors (rings) and subtracting the points scored from the initial amount, i.e., to reach "0" points.

  • The game must end with a hit in the "bullseye", scoring 50 points. If a player scores more points than needed to reach 0, the dart throws are not counted, and the score remains as it was before the throws.

  • Each round is called a leg. Five legs make up a set. Winning a set is credited if 3 legs are won. The final winner is the player who wins the agreed-upon number of sets beforehand. The game "501" is identical to the "301" version, except that you need to "deduct" 501 points. It is in "501" that all major international competitions are played.

Thus, playing darts requires accuracy, strategy, as well as the ability to calculate the number of points and choose the right sectors for throwing darts. 🏆
